The US Virgin Islands, ended their lengthy spell at the bottom of the rankings thanks to two drawn friendly local derbies against their near neighbours the British Virgin Islands – “Battles of the Virgins”, if you will. Days later, they contrived to lose a World Cup qualifier 10-0 to Grenada, but had risen from their ranking low point thanks to the draws with their neighbours.
