A New Nation Appears – And Swiftly Moves On

A new nation will appear in the next FIFA rankings, but have already proved themselves a cut above the very bottom of the rankings table by securing a draw in their very first international match.  South Sudan will enter the rankings table a few places off the bottom thanks to a 2-2 draw at home to Uganda in a friendly match in capital city Juba, as part of the celebrations of their first anniversary of independence. Return of an Old Friend: Bhutan

Despite no action for our World’s Worst contenders this month does see some significant movement at the foot of the rankings table as old matches are expunged from the point scoring.  Joining Montserrat, Turks & Caicos Islands and San Marino propping up the rankings are Bhutan, part inspiration for this whole endeavour.
