What ultimately ended with a disappointing result for Gibraltar, was actually a fairly encouraging and solid performance.
In scoring only Gibraltar’s second ever World Cup goal, Lee Casciaro had put Gibraltar in the mix for a stunning, if unlikely, draw. Sadly that wasn’t to be, with Cyprus sealing the win in the final quarter of the game. Continue reading

Cyprus v. Gibraltar
This Sunday evening sees the first ever clash between Cyprus and Gibraltar in European World Cup qualification, with both sides languishing at the bottom of the Group H table after three matches, neither side having picked up a point so far.
However, Gibraltar have achieved something that Cyprus are yet to in this current campaign, namely scoring a goal. Cyprus have lost by three to Belgium, and two to both Greece and Bosnia-Herzegovina. That poor start does leave Cyprus above Gibraltar on goal difference however, in spite of Liam Walker’s strike for Gibraltar against Greece. Continue reading
